Nicholas Parsons: presenter dies aged 96

TV and radio presenter Nicholas Parsons has died after a short illness, aged 96.

Best known for presenting comedy radio game show Just A Minute, Parsons was a veteran of television, radio and theatre.

A statement issued by his agent Jean Diamond, on behalf of his family, said: "Nicholas passed away in the early hours of 28 January after a short illness at the age of 96.

"He was with his beloved family who will miss him enormously and who wish to thank the wonderful staff at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital."

Despite his impressive CV, with a career in entertainment running through seven decades, Parsons once said he believed he would have got more work had he been "more rugged-looking".
