Man dies after Utley car crash

The collision only involved one vehicle.

Police have issued a further appeal for information after a man who was seriously injured in a single vehicle road traffic collision passed away in hospital.

Conor Mitchell, who was 26 and from Skipton, died on Thursday afternoon, hours after the collision, which occurred at around 1.25am.

Mr Mitchell was the driver and sole occupant of a silver Ford Focus, which was travelling towards Skipton along the B6265 Skipton Road, when it left the road close to Yew Bank Lodge and collided with a wall.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a car crash in Utley involving only one vehicle.

They say it happened at about 1:25am on Thursday morning when a silver Ford Focus was travelling towards Skipton along the B6265 Skipton Road. The car left the road close to Yew Bank Lodge and collided with a wall.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 26-year-old man, was extracted by the fire service and taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious injuries.

Road closures in the area caused travel disruption all morning.
