After serving the city's residents for over four decades, the popular facility is being replaced by a brand new £17.5 million centre.
Tonight will see the doors of the popular Richard Dunn Sports Centre in Bradford close to the public for the final time at 9.00pm
The centre has been open since May 1978, and was named after the famous boxer from the city in honour of his achievements.
Eileen Ayres, receptionist at Richard Dunn Sports Centre will lock the front door when the centre closes. Eileen was one of the first staff to work at Richard Dunn Sports Centre when it opened and has worked there ever since.
The new £17.5 million Sedbergh Leisure Centre will open its doors tomorrow.
Phil Barker, Bradford Council's Assistant Director for Place, said:
"I know that for many Bradford residents and visitors to the area Richard Dunn Sports Centre will hold many fond memories. We thought it was only fitting that Eileen was the person to lock up the centre to the public for the last time.
"It has been a great leisure facility for the district but we now welcome the opening of the Sedbergh Leisure Centre which I am sure many residents will enjoy for years to come."
